We asked Riley, who started with us as an Undergraduate, what his experience was like at Bligh Tanner 

Riley

As an undergraduate at Bligh Tanner, I was able to actively contribute to a range of diverse and interesting projects, throughout the project lifecycle from winning work through to design and construction. It’s been rewarding to see projects I worked on as a student progress to completion!

I’ve enjoyed working on several place-making projects with multi-disciplinary teams of architects, planners and specialist consultants.  As a student I contributed to the design of new off-grid day-use areas in the remote and ecologically sensitive D’Aguilar National Park; i also contributed to improving the flood resilience of the Mackay Waterfront Masterplan. My experience as a student at Bligh Tanner also provided me with an opportunity to tap into the expertise of award-winning senior engineers, who provided on-going support during my final years of university and inspiration for my Honours thesis.

I’m passionate about improving the climate resilience and amenity of our cities through environmentally sustainable design and water sensitive urban design. I was drawn to Bligh Tanner as an engineering consultancy which specialises in challenging, innovative and impactful projects and shares my values of sustainable design and innovation.
