Bligh Tanner has an opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Principal Civil + Water Engineer with 10+ years experience to work with one of Australia’s most innovative engineering practices. This is a full-time, permanent position based in our Brisbane office.

+ Responsibilities

Your overall responsibilities will be: -

+  Detailed design and documentation for the civil and environmental works for a range of public and private projects including hospitals, schools, infrastructure works (eg busways), public buildings and public realms and sensitive environmental projects

+ Concept to detailed investigations into integrated water management schemes

+ Delivering complex projects

+ Managing flood studies associated with development planning

+ Provision of policy and planning advice to government agencies

+ Development of technical standards and guidelines

+ Supporting projects across the business

+ Taking responsibility for training and development of team members

+ Relevant tertiary qualifications

+ Well-developed leadership and communication skills

+ Demonstrated commitment to innovation and sustainability

+ Minimum of 10 years experience in civil engineering design, particularly in public and private projects including hospitals, schools, infrastructure works (eg the busways), public buildings and public realms and sensitive environmental projects

+ Demonstrated technical excellence and an ability to take responsibility for the technical quality of your own work

+ Demonstrated ability to foster and grow professional networks and attract new business

+ Demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation, regulatory frameworks, guidelines and codes, relating to water management in our market areas

+ Demonstrated track record in consulting

+ Relevant qualifications: Degree qualified in a relevant science or engineering field. If you are an engineer, you must hold Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status and hold or be eligible for Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) registration
